In September 2024, we were excited to announce that General Assembly and Adobe teamed up to help US-based creatives and marketers learn cutting-edge creative and AI skills for today’s workforce through a new AI Creative Skills Academy.
The launch wasn’t about capitalizing on the buzz of AI, and it wasn’t about creating another run-of-the-mill creative skills training program. Our partnership with Adobe marked a new era of top-tier tech training that only GA and Adobe can provide—giving learners an in-demand mix of skills to create and execute marketing and creative projects, leverage AI, build their portfolios, and stand out to employers.
And perhaps the best part? The AI Creative Skills Academy is FREE for qualifying applicants.
International demand for creative and AI skills
Since launching the AI Creative Skills Academy in September 2024, we have seen an impressive influx of applicants from across the United States—and beyond.
The demand showcased the need for AI-focused creative skills training not only in the US, but also globally. So we connected with Adobe and focused on expanding the AI Creative Skills Academy to two key geographies—the UK and India. And as of today, we’re proud to say the AI Creative Skills Academy in both of those regions is officially live.
What the AI Creative Skills Academy offers students
Curated by General Assembly in partnership with Adobe, the AI Creative Skills Academy gives you the cutting-edge, AI-focused creative skills you need to stand out as a designer or a marketer and propel your career forward.
- If you’re accepted, it costs you nothing.
- You pick 1 of 2 tracks that suits your career goals—AI Creative Skills for Creatives or AI Creative Skills for Marketers.*
- If you want to dive deep into the creative world, choose the 8-week AI Creative Skills for Creatives track.
- If you have a desire to build marketing strategies, choose the 10-week AI Creative Skills for Marketers track.
- Regardless of track, be prepared to commit 8–12 hours a week for the length of the training.
- You get hands-on instruction from world-class instructors.
- You get free access to Adobe tools as part of your acceptance into the training.
- You get connected to our network of 100,000+ global alumni and employer partners.
- Upon successful completion, you get an official Letter of Completion.
*The AI Creative Skills Academy isn’t available to US residents in these states: Alabama, Connecticut, Kentucky, Nebraska, New York, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. The AI Creative Skills for Creatives track isn’t available to applicants in India.
What makes a great candidate for the AI Creative Skills Academy in the US?
We assess US-based applicants based on the following criteria:
- Your age: If you’re 18–28, you’re a great fit.
- Where you live: You need to be a resident of the United States.
- Your income: You have to make $60,000 USD per year or less.
- Your education level: If you have a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) or associate degree, you’re a good candidate.
- Your demographic profile: For this training, we’re focusing on those part of a community underrepresented in tech—low income, communities of color, LGBTQQIA+, formerly incarcerated individuals, women, Veterans, those with disabilities, and other nontraditional groups.
- Your experience level: If you’re applying to the AI Creative Skills for Creatives track, it’s best if you have 1 year of experience using Adobe tools or equivalent practical experience so you can get the most out of this program.
- Your time commitment: You have to be willing to commit 8–12 hours per week for 8–10 weeks (it’ll be worth it—we promise).
- Your equipment: You need a laptop or computer with wifi access and that meets Adobe’s system requirements to run Adobe Creative Cloud programs.
What makes a great candidate for the AI Creative Skills Academy in the UK?
We assess UK-based applicants based on the following criteria:
- Your age: If you’re 18–30, you’re a great fit.
- Where you live: You need to be a resident of the United Kingdom.
- Your income: You have to make £30,000 per year or less.
- Your education level: If you have a bachelor’s degree or lower, you’re a good candidate.
- Your demographic profile: For this training, we’re focusing on those part of a community underrepresented in tech—ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those with disabilities, and other nontraditional groups.
- Your experience level: You must demonstrate interest or experience in digital marketing, design, or creative skills. And if you’re applying to the AI Creative Skills for Creatives track, it’s best if you have 1 year of experience using Adobe tools or equivalent practical experience so you can get the most out of this program.
- Your time commitment: You have to be willing to commit 8–12 hours per week for 8–10 weeks (it’ll be worth it—we promise).
- Your equipment: You need a laptop or computer with wifi access and that meets Adobe’s system requirements to run Adobe Creative Cloud programs.
What makes a great candidate for the AI Creative Skills Academy in India?
We assess India-based applicants based on the following criteria:
- Your age: If you’re 18–30, you’re a great fit.
- Where you live: You need to be a resident of India.
- Your income: You have to make ₹840,000 ($10,000) per year or less.
- Your education level: If you have a bachelor’s degree or lower, you’re a good candidate.
- Your demographic profile: For this training, we’re focusing on those part of a community underrepresented in tech—ethnic minorities, women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those with disabilities, and other nontraditional groups.
- Your experience level: You must demonstrate interest or experience in design or creative skills.
- Your time commitment: You have to be willing to commit 8–12 hours per week for 8 weeks (it’ll be worth it—we promise).
- Your equipment: You need a laptop or computer with wifi access and that meets Adobe’s system requirements to run Adobe Creative Cloud programs.
The AI Creative Skills Academy gives you real skills to succeed
Regardless of your geography, when you successfully complete General Assembly and Adobe’s AI Creative Skills Academy, you’ll get an official Letter of Completion that shows you completed the program. You’ll also have built out a portfolio of work that shows your expertise and ability.
