CHAMPIONS OF GA, EPISODE 8: FROM ARTS PROGRAMMER TO UX DESIGNER

General Assembly
September 13, 2024

In this series, we spotlight General Assembly graduates who epitomize the heart, soul, and grit it takes to transform your career dreams into reality.

Name: Inez

Course: UX Design Immersive

Year Graduated: 2022

Location: Singapore

Inez’s Story:

Inez knew that knowledge was the only thing standing between her and the career of her dreams—so she decided to go get it.

While working a job in arts programming, she spent her off-hours researching how to make the leap to a user experience design career. Eventually, her quest led her to General Assembly—where she enrolled in our immersive UX Design Bootcamp. “I chose General Assembly specifically because when I went into their website, they had a lot of information,” she says.

“They also had lots of preliminary workshops and talks that allow you to understand more about what their course entails,” she adds. “It was very comprehensive—something that I couldn’t really find offered in other websites or courses that I found online.”

Inez’s hunger for good, quality information echoes a deeply held belief at General Assembly: learn from the best. It’s why we staff instructors from some of the world’s most innovative companies: Adobe, Google, PayPal, Amazon, Gartner. And why we strive to produce no-fluff, valuable content that inspires, encourages, and empowers you to take the steps necessary to actually achieve your goals.

As for Inez, doing her homework paid off.

Once she teamed up with us, she had a road map toward victory—and the team to help her get there. “General Assembly really gave great support in terms of career guidance,” she says. “I feel like they were an integral part of what made my transition into this new industry possible.”
